The Palliative Performance Scale (PPS) is a modification of
the Karnofsky Performance Scale intended for evaluating patients requiring
palliative care. The score can help determine which patients can be managed in
the home and which should be admitted to a hospice unit. It was developed in British Columbia, Canada.
