Overview :
Multivariate analysis can identify women at risk for
developing gestational diabetes. This allows for interventions to lessen the
risk, such as smoking cessation and weight control.

(2) family history of diabetes mellitus
(3) race
(4) pregravid body mass index (BMI)
(5) weight gain in early adulthood
